Less than 24 hours after battling it out at The Arc, Matlock, in the Derbyshire Primary 5-a-side tournament, Castle View’s soccer heroes were displaying their skills again at the Soccerdome, Pride Park in Derby.

Taking part in the prestigious national tournament, The Kid’s Cup, our children were pitched against teams from all over Derbyshire, with the ultimate prize being a place in the grand final at Wembley in May!!

Our qualifying group included teams from St. John’s in Ripley, Parkview, Derby, Coton-in-the-Elms, Swadlincote and Oakwood Primary of Alvaston. With goals from Patrick (3), Kye (2), Erin and Callum and outstanding performances from William, Lincoln, Harvey and Tommy, it was a great day out for everyone. Our children battled hard, had fun and made new friends.

Having narrowly failed to qualify for the knock-out stages, this was the end of our “Road to Wembley” for this year…who’s up for 2018?
