Castle View continues it’s journey to excellence by applying to join The Queen Elizabeth Grammar School Multi Academy Trust.

Today Parents have had a letter home about us joining The Queen Elizabeths Multi Academy Trust, the letter can be found here

Castle View Primary School in School Road, Matlock, have taken another step in their journey to excellence this week by applying to join The Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School (QEGS) Multi Academy Trust.

In March this year Governors resolved to become an academy and a huge amount of work has gone into finding a trust that matches our values and that has the capacity to support our school in its development. We feel that QEGS care passionately about children and believe that all children deserve the best education they can get. They also share our belief in the need to develop staff to be the best teachers and support staff that they can be.

When Executive Head from QEGS, Anne Martin visited Castle View she could see that we have this in common and that we could work together productively. Head teacher of Castle View Primary School Matlock, Mrs Peat has already developed productive relationships with schools in the local cluster and across the Derbyshire Partnership for Learning Teaching Alliance; this new relationship will bring access to even more resources and expertise.

Head teacher Clare Peat said “This is a really exciting time for us. We are very excited about the possibilities this new relationship will bring.”

Chair of Governors Helen Boocock added “We already have an inspirational Head teacher and her team are about delivering the best education for children to give them the best start in life. They have achieved a great deal in the last three years. Governors believe that in the current climate, joining the QEGS MAT is the best next step on our journey to excellence.”
