Gallery: Armistice Day
Whilst everyone at school took part in a special Remembrance assembly, a small group of children from Year 5 and Year 6 represented Castle View on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month at the war memorial in Park Head, Matlock. Following the homage, silence and prayers the children gave an emotive reading from Michael Morpurgo’s War Horse.
After the service the children relished the opportunity to speak to veterans and members of the Royal British Legion.
Chairman of the fellowship of the services David Barker extended his thanks to the children and the school for their continued support in marking this important date.
